Yoder's Country Market: an authentic taste of Appalachia

In Bulls Gap, Tennessee, there is a Mennonite market by the name of Yoder’s Country Market on West Andrew Johnson Highway. As implied by the name, it is owned by the local Yoder family.

While it may seem like any other restaurant in the area, it is one of the most unique places between Knoxville and Johnson City.

Since Yoder’s uses electricity, it is likely more of a Mennonite establishment than Amish, despite its widespread appeal to both communities.

Yoder’s is known by most people for its wide variety of deli meats and cheeses, along with its selection of specialty sandwiches, including BLTs, reubens and club sandwiches.

However, the intrigue of the market goes far beyond its sandwiches and cheeses. They also offer bulk foods, baking supplies, gluten-free products and other organic products, so they do not cater (pun intended) to just Amish and Mennonite people, but offer something for everyone.

If you are looking for a new dining experience, shopping for supplies, or just needing something to do for a while, Yoder’s Country Market is the right place for you.

They are located at 15275 W. Andrew Johnson Highway in Bulls Gap, Tenn.
